Role Purpose Statement


The role of the Transport Booking Clerk is to understand and undertake all aspects of the administration functions within the Traffic Office, with particular emphasis on job input and booking in deliveries.

Responsible for the upkeep of our Transport Management System including booking times, amendments, cancellations and additions to ensure the system is accurate and live at all times for planning purposes.


  • Book in deliveries and collections on behalf of Maxim Logistics, both internally and externally
  • Ensure accurate and 100% completion of bookings for the following day
  • Communicate with the drivers to ensure that booking times are achievable and deal with this accordingly
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing phone calls on a daily basis
Pre & Debriefing drivers to ensure all required standards are met

  • To complete nonconformances and report them to the customers
  • To monitor customer performance against prescribed process and report persistent failure to Maxims Customer Services Manager

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Good customer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Office experience essential
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills
