    Job Title:
    Compliance Manager/

    Counsel Client:
    International law firm (small/medium sized)
    Office: 2/3 days in whilst getting settled, the rest working from home. Possibility to reduce days in the office after probation (if preferred)

    Hours:
    open to full time or part time
    Compliance Partner
    A compliance professional who is legally qualified in the UK or Ireland, with at least 8 years PQE

    Due to recent growth and evolving compliance needs, a reputable law firm with operations in London and the northeast, are seeking to recruit a Compliance Manager/ Counsel.

    They are looking for a talented individual to oversee their internal compliance environment, including strategy and policy development, client onboarding procedures, data privacy compliance, and general regulatory and ethical duties.

    Work solely as the Compliance Manager with no additional duties.

    Work as the Compliance Manager as well as the firms Assistant General Counsel, in respect of all internal legal advice matters.

    Work as the Compliance Manager as well as the Board Secretariat, including coordinating board meeting information packs, attending board meetings and maintaining minutes.

    Develop and implement compliance strategies and policies in alignment with regulatory requirements.
    Manage client onboarding processes to ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.
    Oversight and management of the compliance aspects of the firm's client onboarding processes (AML and sanctions).
    Shared supervision of the firm's IT & Compliance Coordinator.
    Liaison and management of the firm's external KYC checks service provider.
    Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, in all aspects of our operations.
    Provide guidance on general regulatory and ethical matters to internal stakeholders.

    Liaise with international counterparts within their global law firm group and potentially travel (once a year) to the US for collaboration.

    Experience in a compliance or legal role within a law firm or similar environment.
    Strong understanding of AML regulations and compliance practices.
    Broad understanding of the UK/EU GDPR environment and the ability to think logically about data privacy issues (strongly desirable)
