This role is in our Third Party Administration Management Team for Client Delivery in London.


The Administration Manager is a hands on role and will promote the Hymans Robertson brand and values whilst ensuring client satisfaction through proactive management of internal and external relationships.

You will be responsible for a defined client portfolio and leading Team Leaders, Principal Administrators and/or Administration Consultants and working closely with other teams to meet all client/members' needs.

You will also have people manager responsibilities and will play an active role in winning new work and the implementation of new client schemes.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing up to two Administration Teams.
  • Review and monitor administration services to maintain service standards
  • Reviewing and ensuring Service Level Agreements are consistently met for individual clients.
  • Produce and maintain annual client account plans and record and planned for the assigned client portfolio.
  • Scope and project manage any special projects with client, administration, and system teams.
  • Working with the Client Service Delivery Lead to analyse client profitability
  • Ensure monthly billing is completed on time
  • Key point of contact for team leaders regarding clients.
  • Key point of contact for team members on technical issues and nonstandard cases.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new, standard operation procedures for administration services.
  • Finding ways to continuously improve workflows and practices.
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and the highest level of quality assurance.
  • Be commercially aware, specifically when identifying and agreeing scope of work outside agreed fee basis.

  • Take the lead on very complex cases and provide technical guidance to the team as required.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all systems, products and your clients.
  • Oversee Reviewer process in line with best practice guidance.
  • Act as escalation point on progress and any identified risks from Team Leader
  • Contribute to TPA resource planning and support recruitment and onboarding activities as required.
  • Actively build and maintain employment engagement and identify areas for improvement.
  • Look for opportunities to delegate work to others.
  • People Manage members of the team to encourage their career development.
  • Adhere to the firm's Information Security standards, professionalism requirements, policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


  • Several years' experience of managing active workflows and associated projects across multiple teams and in compliance with service quality standards.
  • Experience of supporting client relationships from operational point of view.
  • Experience of leading teams with a collaborative, inclusive and consultative approach.
  • Good knowledge of current DB & DC pension legislation.
  • Knowledge of Pensions Administration operating systems e.g. UPM.
  • Analytical mindset with focus on high quality and attention to detail.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as Associate Membership to the Pension Management Institute, or equivalent experience.
