    Description

    An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Trust Associate Specialist (Speciality Doctor Grade) in Adult Psychiatry Holt Ward, as part of clinically led strategy for patient care.

    Post is fulltime based in Holt Ward in Worcester. Less than fulltime and flexible working applicants are welcome to apply.
    g (remote working).
    Designated office space will be provided along with a trust laptop and smartphone.

    The Trust Associate Specialist's responsibilities include treatment planning and regular reviews through outpatient contact or a multidisciplinary care programme approach that comprehensively address patients biopsychosocial needs.

    Ensuring the involvement of families and carers in treatment planning wherever possible, with the patients consent.
    Participating in teaching, clinical audit, quality assurance programmes and clinical governance. Other career development opportunities may also be supported as well.

    To work within appropriate governance frameworks in the area of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity, choice and control and the safety of patients, carers, staff and the general community.

    The appointee will be expected to develop his or her clinical role within the framework of the Trusts strategy and within its financial constraints.

    The post holder will provide medical input to Holt Ward, Worcester which is currently 16 (under review) bedded, mixed gender assessment ward.

    Holt Ward takes all admissions from the community for patients in acute crisis. Quality improvement is high priority.

    Any clinical problem beyond the experience of the post holder and problems causing anxiety should be referred to the Consultant, a senior member of the team or, in their absence, the appropriate person on duty or deputising for them.

    MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
    Approval (or eligible for approval) under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act.
    Previous ILS training

    4 years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) 2 years of which as a ST/FTSTA in Psychiatry or equivalent experience/ competencies.
