Purpose of Position
The Portfolio Strategy Associate will be an integral member of Pantheon's Portfolio Strategy Team.

The team is responsible for the portfolio construction and monitoring of all of Pantheon's clients across private equity, infrastructure, real assets, real estate, and private debt across all investment types - primaries, secondaries and co-investments.

The team is also responsible for allocating investment opportunities across all of Pantheon's clients.


The Associate will be responsible for supporting a subset of private equity clients' investment strategies and monitoring portfolios as they get invested over time.

They will also be responsible, along with the rest of the team, for determining the allocation of all investments to Pantheon's clients and creating the allocation recommendations to be presented to the Allocation committee.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage investment strategies and monitor portfolio construction of existing Pantheon clients (consist of commingled funds, separately managed accounts, and evergreen/openended funds) as portfolios are invested over time
  • Determine the allocations for private equity coinvestments and primaries to determine which clients should invest in which transactions, and manage the approvals process with the allocation committee
  • Collaborate with senior portfolio managers and other relevant stakeholders to manage the investment strategy for PPEXX, the AMG Pantheon Fund, a registered evergreen vehicle offering core private equity exposure to US accredited investors
  • Present regular updates on portfolio construction, deployment, and client developments to the relevant investment committees
  • Assist investor relations and marketing teams in presenting on portfolio construction to clients and developing materials for investors related to portfolio construction
  • Support the Head of Portfolio Strategy on investment strategy development
  • Spearhead research projects related to portfolio construction and strategy
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and Pantheon policy (including reporting compliance risks and maintaining appropriate standards of conduct

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • 4+ years of experience in financial services, investment consulting, asset management, private equity, or other related field
  • Working knowledge of private markets (particularly private equity) and understanding of portfolio construction principles a plus
  • CFA/CAIA or Master's degree a plus
  • Provide a high degree of accuracy in work completed
  • Ability to work well in a team and strong relationship management
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams at once
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and judgement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines/under pressure
