- Full time, Permanent
- Paid hourly - £18.76 per hour (equivalent to £38,000 per annum)
- Allocation of your own van / vehicle and tool kit
- Use of a mobile phone when on call duty

- Perform service, repairs, installations, and maintenance
- Participate in on-call technical support

- Manage large site installations
- Work with various machinery, including shredders
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Mechanical qualification or relevant experience
- Background in mechanical fitting
- Willing to work long hours
- Identify and resolve machinery safety issues
- Interpret engineering drawings
- Dismantle and overhaul machinery
- Overtime paid at normal rate other than Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
- Saturdays paid at 1.5x normal rate and Sundays are paid at 2.0x.

In this role, you will meet the following:

Challenger Handling Limited:
Join a team that has been synonymous with high-quality engineering solutions since 1995, specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of a wide range of bespoke engineering solutions.
The brand has expanded significantly, from the conveyor design and manufacturing division we once were, to the expert division we are today.
Over the years, the range of products has developed, with the introduction of baling equipment, hydraulic crushers, and compactors in the late 1990s, utilising the hydraulic products and experience of the Hydraulics division.
2007 saw the introduction of drum and IBC reconditioning equipment. In 2012, the business became the sole distributor in the UK and Europe for SSI Shredding Systems.This has paved the way for developing the shredder service, maintenance and re-build facility, providing an excellent addition to the existing manufacturing workshop.
Also, the introduction of shredding equipment allowed for the development of medical waste treatment facilities and many other recycling systems.
