    Description
    An exciting opportunity has become available within The BNSSG Training Hub, for two
    General Practice Nursing Retention & Education Leads.

    The role will involve working within a dynamic team to raise the profile of General Practice Nursing (GPN) and work to support nurses working in practice.

    Supported by our experienced team, the successful candidates will help to implement local GPN strategic development, manage any relevant projects, promote the GPN role, and support and grow GPN development, leadership, and retention.

    This will provide an exciting opportunity for motivated General Practice Nurses to develop their skills in leadership and education alongside their existing clinical role.

    Successful applicants will work with the BNSSG Training Hub for 1.this can be flexible around other commitments but ideally would include a Tuesday (our core team day).

    The successful candidates will help create and drive forward the GPN Strategy, develop GPN leadership and help coalesce and raise the voice of GPNs across BNSSG.

    Colleagues across The Training Hub will support the successful candidate in thriving in their role.

    Candidates must have experience as a nurse and currently working in a general practice, ideally within BNSSG footprint, and still working in a clinical role.

    Working with The BNSSG Training Hub team, the successful candidate will have several key responsibilities including, but not limited to:
    Providing a link into The BNSSG Training Hub for GPNs
    Champion General Practice Nursing by promoting the role as a career destination for all aspirant, trainee and established nurses
    Evaluate training needs analysis to ensure The BNSSG Training Hub CPD processes match GPN needs
    Ensure workstreams focus on key areas of GPN recruitment, retention and supported retirement

    Work with the BNSSG General Practice & TNA/RNDA PEFs to promote the growth of nursing apprenticeships and placement opportunities in primary care.

    Represent The BNSSG Training Hub GPN workstream within local and regional meetings.

    Location:

    Hybrid – Primarily remote working however, occasional travel will be required to local practices and to attend key meetings.


    Contract type:
    Fixed Term Contract July 2024 – June 2025.

    Pay:

    The role will be remunerated at £43,472 - £50,056 (pro rata), depending on experience, plus 28% on costs (paid to employing practice).

    Leads will each have access to an education and training allowance of £500. Study leave must be agreed with the Training Hub.
    Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
    Provide evidence of ongoing professional development

    Accredited teaching qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.
    Good knowledge of issues pertinent to General Practice nursing.
    Demonstrate personal and professional development
    Experience of working in General Practice setting

    Experience in teaching theory and practical skills; Knowledge of the current challenges facing the primary care workforce.

    Interest in education, supported by previous teaching, supervision, mentoring or coaching experience.
