    Housing Management Worker Description

    Housing Management (or Property) Worker

    Greencroft, South Hetton

    Permanent, Part time (16 hpw) Over 5 days, Mon- Fri

    Pay £12 per hour (£23,464 per annum) pro rata and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

    This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management worker to join our team at a sheltered housing scheme in South Hetton. You will join the team known internally as the older persons service- Durham & Sunderland. As our Housing and Property Guru, you'll support our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you'll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts.

    Typical day as a Housing Management Worker

  • Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you'll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  • Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • To support the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you'll turn around vacant or void properties within set timescales.
  • You'll carry out and record the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities making sure we're compliant.
  • You'll also manage the admin updating records, ordering, and arranging payment for works to be done.

    You bring

  • A background in property management, but that's not a deal breaker Perhaps you've worked in an environment with compliance and health and safety checks?
  • A "can do" positive attitude, you're proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help your customers.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners
  • Passion for property and get a thrill out of knowing that your properties are the best they can be for our customers
  • Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship toexternalcandidates for this role. This remains under regular review

  • Working 16hrs per week over 5 days Mon- Fri, with some flexibility around start and finish times.
  • Based at our service in South Hetton you'll spend your time at predominantly at the scheme however on occasions travel may be required to support at a neighbouring scheme
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
  • To get from A to B, you'll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we'll pay your mileage
  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
