Psychologist Specialist - Middlesbrough, United Kingdom - Tewv Brits
Description
Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation TrustAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Applied Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary CYP Community Eating Disorders Service in Teesside.
The team works with children and young people up to the age of 18 and with an eating disorder, alongside their families.
We have close links with our colleagues in paediatrics and within locality CAMHS teams. We operate an assessment, treatment, and consultancy model to ensure that young people and their families receive high quality, safe, effective, evidence-based care encompassing both physical and psychological well-being in line with national guidance around the treatment of eating disorders within the community.
The team provides individual and family therapy, physical monitoring, consultation, liaison, advice, and training, and works with young people and families affected by eating disorders as well as local partners in the community including schools and primary care.
We have also developed a home based treatment team to provide more intensive community support and reduce the need for inpatient admissions.
The successful applicant will be joining a well-established community team, and the post will involve working in the community within the supportive and collaborative multi-disciplinary eating disorders team to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to young people and their families.
The post holder will also offer supervision, advice, consultation and training to other members of the team, and there are multiple opportunities to be involved in service development initiatives as the service is constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our population.
Experience of working with young people and families is important, as well as the ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with our multi-agency partner organisations.
We are keen to support the ongoing development of Psychologists through training and CPD opportunities. There is a strong psychology network across the trust and within the CAMHS directorate. The service provides training placements and teaching for the local DClinPsy & DCounsPsy courses. We are the Mental Health & Learning Disability NHS Trust for County Durham and Darlington, Teesside, North Yorkshire, York and Selby.
From education and prevention, to crisis and specialist care our talented and compassionate teams work in partnership with our patients, communities and partners to help the people of our region feel safe, understood, believed in and cared for.
We nurture the recovery journey of anyone in need of our help.In Our Trust, everyone has a say in how they are supported and treated because we listen to every person in our care until they feel understood.
Our patients, their families and carers work together with us towards better mental health. We're committed to new thinking that improves the wellbeing of our region. We connect with our communities and partners to get mental health care right, in areas that really need it.
We won't rest until everyone in our region has the mental health care they need, to lead their best possible life.
We are willing to consider applications from Psychologists who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 8a, but who would be interested in undertaking the post at a Band 7 initially, with a supportive plan for development and progression in due course.
To support this we have developed leadership profiles for each psychology band and the profile card associated with this post is attached on NHS Jobs.
