What's your role in Society?
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated
Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join our team.
As a member of Sweco's Land Quality North Team within the Geo-Environmental Advisory Business Unit you will be required to undertake predominantly office-based work supporting UK-wide delivery of brownfield regeneration schemes for a range of public and private sector clients.
What does the role involve?
- Provide consultancy services in relation to geoenvironmental assessments by undertaking both office and sitebased work.
- Prepare desk study, site investigation, risk assessment and validation reports.
- Site supervision during site investigations, remediation, demolition, and construction programmes including liaison with internal/external clients and subcontractors.
- Act as project manager on small or medium sized projects and progress towards managing large projects.
- Develop and enhance existing skills in geoenvironmental assessments.
- Develop and enhance existing skills in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment.
- Provide support to others and/or fulfil clientside secondment opportunities.
- Develop understanding of relevant British Standards and other relevant design guides.
- Lead/ assist in the production of proposals/bids.
- Be capable of developing new and enhancing existing, internal, and external client relationships. Work towards lasting relationships with key clients.
- Assist in general marketing on behalf of the Company and develop customer relationships.
- Provide clients with confidence that they have engaged a competent consultant who provides teams of visible technical quality.
- Be competent in the procurement and management of subcontractors (including preparation of specifications and industry standard forms of contract ICC/NEC)
- Undertake design delivery tasks as required to the programme and level of quality as defined by the line manager/team leader.
- Prepare drawings and well written clear, accurate and well presented reports. Management of self to achieve defined targets.
- Act as mentor to junior staff.
- Contributing to the office culture, conduct and discipline to encourage an enjoyable, productive and efficient workplace for all.
To be successful in this role you'll possess:
- An MSc in a relevant field (preferable but not essential)
- Working towards or achieved chartership or recognised accreditation through a relevant professional body (CGeol, CEng)
- Significant experience in a geoenvironmental field with demonstrable experience of ground engineering, contaminated land assessments.
- Experience of managing deliverables for ground investigations and remediation schemes on land regeneration frameworks i.e., gas infrastructure/utility clients is desirable.
- Client focused attitude with a good track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent IT skills with advanced skills in MS Office.
- Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative, and practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
- Full clean driving licence.
