Portable Foods Manufacturing Company Ltd is a subsidiary of Kellogg, established in 1998 and based in Wrexham, North Wales, we produce a wide range of cereal bars and fruit snacks.

The Team Leader will direct and lead the activities of team members to ensure that the daily production plan is met safely, to the required plant efficiency, product quality and hygiene standards through positive behaviours and consistently deliver key plant KPI's using lean techniques.


This role will report directly to the Shift Leader and work on a shift basis of 12 hour shifts, pattern is plant dependent and can change due to consumer demand (2 Shift work pattern, 3 Shift work pattern and Continuous 4 On-4 Off shift pattern - all patterns are 7-7 and will be required to do both day and night shifts).


  • Experience of Leading a Team
  • Excellent communication skills are a must as you will come into contact with all departments within the organisation
  • People focused and is capable of achieving demanding targets
  • A self motivated, team player with a flexible attitude
  • Experience of working with standardised processes within designated time frames
  • Have the ability to embrace change within a fast paced organisation and drive continuous improvement

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Ensure the plant is equipped and delivering against key performance indicators, including safety, Quality, productivity, training & development to achieve results aligned to OEE improvements
  • Implement containment activities on shift where possible and escalate any issues which cannot be contained on shift and/or require countermeasure investigation and implementation
  • Ensure the production of safe food to defined quality standards
  • To build capability within your team to identify all unsafe practices and conditions
  • Promote and maintain high levels of employee engagement through good management and effective communication
  • To actively manage and develop team members, including absence welfare
  • To be actively promote continuous improvement
  • Follow all manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of products in line with schedule requirements
  • Build capability within your team to understand key plant performance metrics in their area of work and drive ownership for delivery of them
