Description

The the key responsibilities:


_Payroll, Pensions and Employee Benefits (70%)_

  • Responsible for all payroll administration and data entry, including time sheet entry
  • Liaising with the HR Officer regarding new starters, leavers, remuneration and conditions of service.
  • Check and validate the results of provisional payroll reports and taking appropriate remedial actions to achieve accurate final payslips.
  • Responsible for liaising with external provider with regards to payroll queries
  • Administration of the employee benefits, including ride to work scheme, season ticket loans, childcare vouchers, Simply Health cash health care plan, private medical insurance and /postgraduate loans
  • Perform monthly pension reconciliations
  • Liaise with staff on payroll related queries, escalating as appropriate
  • Liaising with staff and external payroll provider on pension queries
  • Liaising with HMRC as necessary with regards to payrollrelated tax queries
  • Responsible for collating information necessary for production of P11Ds
  • To monitor and report on the performance of the outsourced payroll provider
  • Assist the HR Director with the production of allstaff annual salary letters
  • Assist the HR Director/Foundation HR Director with requests for management information (gender pay gap information)
  • To streamline and improve the smoothrunning of the payroll process, including working with EPM to suggest improvements and adaptations to the portal and service
  • Ensure that the EPM portal holds accurate employee data
  • Assist the Foundation HR Director with any data required for annual gender pay gap reporting

_HR Administration (30%)_

  • Updating and monitoring the appraisal schedule for support and teaching staff, communicating with managers and staff about upcoming appraisals, and chasing incomplete appraisals
  • Creating and updating appropriate records in the appraisal Share Point site and personnel files
  • Answering appraisal queries from line managers and escalating issues to the HR Director and Senior Deputy Head
  • Assisting the HR Director, Compliance Manager, Senior Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in setting up, tracking, chasing and recording mandatory staff training
  • Assisting the administration of the HR department as required, for example filing, archiving, and data entry into the HR system
  • Any other reasonable duties required by the HR Director

_Other_

  • Complying with relevant Emanuel policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures, at all times.
  • Undertaking any other task requested by the line manager or a senior colleague that is within the individual's abilities.

Profile

  • CIPP qualified or partqualified, or equivalent qualification from a reputable provider
  • Knowledge of payroll practices
  • Experience of working within a payroll function as payroll officer, administrator or assistant
- knowledge of administrating a pension scheme

  • Experience of administrative work involving working to time lines
  • Previous Experience working within a school or educational environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Discreet and able to handle work of a highly confidential nature
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines, managing competing priorities
  • Clear, concise and calm communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive and flexible working approach
  • A customerservice approach and a high level of personal integrity
