The Health Foundation is an independent charity of c.220 staff, committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.

The organisation is funded by a large endowment currently valued at c.£1.1billion.

Interest from this investmentallows independent spend of up to £45m a year on improving health and care in the UK through a variety of value add grant giving schemes and strategic industry partnerships.

The Role

The finance team has been restructured and expanded to reflect the changing needs of The Health Foundation - a new team for a new strategy.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will deliver an effective accounts service for the organisation witha focus on transformation and creating an effective controls environment.

In liaising with the investments team, you will oversee working capital management and cash forecasting.

Additionally, you will support the team in various aspects of the accountingcycle including the production of year end accounts, monthly reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and providing technical accounting advice where required.

Qualified accountant with sound academic background.
Experience in external audit and/or proven financial accountant in a small or mid sized organisation.
Strong grasp of risk, controls, policies and process improvement, plus an understanding of financial investments.
Excellent communicator and inquisitive nature with the ability to build effective crossfunctional relationships
