    Digging back through each layer to understand the source and document it

  • All data engineering team is new
  • The systems are legacy
  • Over the last few years they have been moving everything out of warehouse and making data available in PowerBI
  • Sourcemapping and analysis of Data
  • Dynamics theres lots of data and homebuilder with a lot of data
  • We're in the process of understanding what fields have data and what data is what
  • We're looking at reporting tables ..
  • Measures of how theyre created and low level data
  • Its very technical .. Its taking us away from ingestion
  • Analysis
  • Definitions of the data
  • API's are documented .. Its the legacy and dynamics stuff we need analysis
  • Processes and documented
  • Mapping ..
  • Technical Data Analyst
  • Background of SQL and Querying and documenting and business process mapping
  • Homebuilder is mainframe
  • Zero dev work around engineering
  • ETL processes and documenting and mapping the processes out
  • Digging back through each layer to understand the source and document it
  • Theres people in the team that could do this but they could be working better work and ingesting
  • 3 months for data ..

  • We need to ingest as much data as possible
  • Ingesting as much data as quickly possible it's a perfect case of 'show and tell' ... Showcasing PowerBI as a business unit and get this out to the business
