    Description

    Job Title: Occupational Therapist (locum)

    Locations: We currently have opportunities across a few different regions including London, Cambridge, Luton and more.

    Summary: We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to our patients/clients. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare or community setting, enabling individuals with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial impairments to achieve their maximum level of independence and participation in daily activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess and evaluate individuals' functional abilities, cognitive skills, and environmental factors impacting their ability to perform daily activities.
    • Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans using evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
    • Provide therapeutic interventions such as activity analysis, task training, environmental modifications, adaptive equipment prescription, and skill-building.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
    • Educate and train patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for promoting independence, safety, and participation in daily activities.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, adhering to professional standards and legal requirements.
    • Participate in regular clinical supervision, professional development activities, and continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of occupational therapy service standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants, students, and junior therapists as required.
    • Facilitate effective discharge planning by assessing patients' functional abilities, home environment, and community resources, providing recommendations for necessary equipment, modifications, and support services to ensure safe discharge and continued participation in daily activities.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
    • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
    • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical or community setting.
    • Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and interventions.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
    • Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.
