    NLG Health are currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist for a Hospital in East Sussex to cover an ongoing booking until the end of July 2024, with an anticipated extension.

    Main Duties


    • Provide specialist advice to clinicians as to appropriateness of tests and timescales


    • Work independently and lead on specialist area as directed by Lead BMS


    • Acts as mentor for more junior scientific and support staff


    • To work flexibly in reflection of service needs this may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24 hour, 7 days per week service


    • Supervises and/or trains less experienced staff in own area of work

    Requirements

    You will be a Biomedical Scientist, registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and hold a Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent. System knowledge of Lab Centre, Q Pulse, Modulab and Sysmex is desirable.

    You must be confident with busy caseloads and be able to manage time effectively and comply with CQC regulation requirements. It is essential that you work within codes of practice and professional guidelines and be able to communicate health issues effectively and courageously.

    You must currently be living in the UK, have effective communication skills, excellent attendance record as well as the ability to work under pressure. Additionally, it is essential that you have a minimum of 6 months previous work experience within acute healthcare setting with the ability to provide 2 professional references are essential.

    Working Pattern will initially be days, with the expectation to move to night shifts
