We are looking to recruit a Departmental Lecturer (Modelling for Global Health) to join our Academic Programmes Centre here at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

The main purpose of this role, will be to engage in advanced study and academic research, to lecture and teach undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the teaching, research, and academic administration of the department.


You will be responsible for undertaking advanced academic study to underpin lectures and class teaching as well as lecture, tutor, [conduct practical classes using laboratory or workshop equipment], and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

You will be tasked with managing independent research projects or specific areas of research within a broad programme, to include:

developing research questions within a specific context; conducting original research; analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, and developing appropriate analytical protocols and techniques to support research.

You will also be responsible for liaising with examiners and academic staff regarding student performance and the development of new modules, and with funding bodies, stakeholders, and researchers in related fields to share information and expertise.


To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant DPhil degree in a topic related to global health modelling, together with post-qualification experience.

You will have expertise in infectious disease modelling and analytical techniques and demonstrate an interest in modelling for global health, and you will have experience with developing and delivering teaching as well as sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in infectious disease modelling to develop course units.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until for 3 years.
