    This full-time course commences in September 2024 to be completed by September 2025 with University of Surrey.

    Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust are working collaboratively on this recruitment. Both Trusts have live adverts and where candidates have applied to both, they will be interviewed jointly.

    We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and innovative practitioners to train as Health Visitors and School Nurses, to lead 0-19 Public Health Nursing and deliver great service to our children and families in Hampshire.

    Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN's) work at individual, community and population level in a preventative social model of health, designed to empower families to take control of and improve their own health and wellbeing.

    We are inviting NMC qualified nurses (Part 1, Part 2), to apply for a training contract to complete the PgDip/MSc in Public Health Practice, with University of Surrey.

    As well as academic study you will experience placements within Health Visiting or School Nursing teams across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. On successful completion of your studies you will gain a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) qualification in Health Visiting or School Nursing, be offered a post (location to be determined) within our services and paid at salary Band 6.

    Successful applicants must have 120 credits at level 6 or a first degree 2:2 or above to complete a PgDip/MSc. If you do not have a level 6 qualification or a BSc ord or have a third class honours degree, there may still be an opportunity to do this programme and please do make contact to discuss.

    Please note we cannot consider your application until you have an NMC registration and a full driving licence and use of a vehicle. This post is subject to Occupational Health Clearance and an enhanced DBS check.

    Essential

  • Registered Nurse on Part 1 or 2 of the NMC Register or be a registered midwife
  • For PgDip/MSc course a first level degree in a related subject ( class or above) or an equivalent qualification from an approved university
  • Full driving licence with own access to vehicle
