Reports to:
Operations Manager

Working remotely from client sites to protect assets from potential theft and damage.
Key Objectives

  • Always deliver the role of a Security Dog Handler to a high standard
  • Represent K9 Patrol and the City Group well, by ensuring smart appearance, clean/fully equipped vehicle, and healthy and groomed dog
  • Conduct the role of a Security Professional by adhering to the Assignment Instructions fully
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with Site Management and workers
  • Report all Observations and Incidents no matter how small
  • Take personal responsibility for the Health and Safety of K9 Patrol, the client, other onsite personnel, yourself and your dog
  • Punctuality is essential to the role, arriving to site 15 minutes before the shift start time
  • Remain alert and vigilant at all times
Activities

  • Use the SmartTask App to book on, do check calls and book off in line with requirements of each assignment
  • Attend and pay full attention to Site Inductions
  • Read, understand and confirm that's you have received the necessary information and training to conduct your role as set out within the Assignment Instructions
  • Attend and undertake the mandatory training required for the role
  • Attend and undertake specific Dog Handler training in line with the BS 851
  • Produce accurate and timely reports and information as required
  • Uniform must be worn at all times whilst onsite in line with the requirements set out in the BS851
  • Be in possession of a full kit as specified within the BS851
  • Walk the perimeter of the site to 'Dynamically Risk Assess' the site at the start of every shift. Ensure all fencing is in order, any defects or observations must be brought to the attention of the Site Manager and the Operations Manager. Create an entryin the Site Log showing time and date and details.
  • Check the area of the site including buildings, machinery etc and make notes of anything that appears to be out of the ordinary. Site Manager and the Operations Manager. Create an entry in the Site Log showing time and date and details.
  • Foot patrols to be conducted as set out in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Dog to be kept under control at all times in line with the Guard Dogs Act 1975

The activities listed above are not exhaustive or exclusive and duties of a similar nature will be required to be completed.

Degree of Supervision

The Security Dog Handler needs to be able to work confidently on their own as many assignments are Lone Worker based.

Remote support is available at all times from the Duty Manager.
The Security Dog Handler reports to the Operations Managers.
Confidentiality

The post requires a high level of discretion in the handling of confidential matters and the ability to maintain complete confidentiality on the content of the Clients information.


Requirements:


  • To possess or be working towards a NASDU Level 2 or equivalent
  • Flexibility to meet with the assignment, location and shift changes due to the adhoc nature of the Security Dog industry
  • Good spoken English
  • Frontline SIA Licence Holder
  • Industry experience
  • Commitment to follow instructions for each assignment
