Metal Worker / Fabricator

Location: Leicester

Day shift: Mon – Thur: 7.00am – 5.30am Friday: 7.00am – 9.30am

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £14.50 / hr (negotiable dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced Matel Worker / Fabricator looking for a new opportunity? Our client, based in Leicester, is seeking a skilled individual to join their workshop team. Specialising in the fabrication and welding of balustrades, staircases, handrails, beams, box sections, and general metalwork, this role requires someone who can interpret drawings accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

·Measuring, cutting, clamping, grinding, drilling, and tacking metal pieces prior to welding

·Inspecting and testing completed welds to ensure quality and safety standards are met

·Operating welding machines to fuse metal segments using MIG or similar processes

·Maintaining and repairing equipment and tools

·Adhering to safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear

Skills and Experience Required:

·Previous experience in hand fabrication and bending/shaping metals

·Proficiency in working with thin materials and metals

·Experience with assembling of metal parts

·Background in engineering / sheet metal fabrication preferred

·Effective communication skills in English

·Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
