The role of SARC Coordinator (Manager) is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required.

Acting as the advocate for patients who attend the centre, you will empower them to feel in control and where applicable,support them during the forensic examination process.


Please note, this role involves working for the Norfolk and Suffolk SARCs ( NR6 5QH & IP3 9FH).


Each county has its own dedicated Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), the service has been commissioned to improve the immediate medical response and aftercare offered to victims of sexual assault and rape.

Mountain Healthcare are a specialist businessalready providing similar services to 20 other SARCs in locations across the UK.


For this role you will work as the SARC Coordinator (Manager) and will be responsible for co-ordinating all activities related to the smooth running of the SARC.

The SARC Coordinator (Manager) will effectively lead and manage this multi-agency centre andservices, playing a pivotal role in developing a strategic vision for the service ensuring changes meet internal and external expectations and meets budgetary constraints, who will help cover the service (predominantly) out of office hours, including nightsand weekends.

The role will include:

  • The SARC Manager will be accountable for coordinating and delivering safe and effective services to all clients of the SARC meeting National and Local Targets in relation to rape and sexual assault
  • The post holder will be required to evaluate and assess current service delivery and implement changes in practice that deliver significant and substantial improvements in access and service delivery, whilst working within a budget
  • Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for the management of all employees associated with the SARC

Please note:

there is a requirement to complete the role of Forensic Nurse Examiner for 1 out of every 5 days per week.


Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel will be a requirement of the role to locations across the county (including local hospitals).

Essential Skills

  • Registered General/Adult Nursing qualification
  • A minimum of 1+ year post qualification experience
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a field related to sexual health
  • Acute healthcare experience (e.g. A&E, custody/prison nursing)
  • Experience of supporting victims of sexual assault
