    Process Engineer – 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

    Closing Date for Applications – 19th December (COB)

    It is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing, diverse team of process engineers responsible for providing design, software and commissioning support to an important product moving to run on new equipment.

    One of the products manufactured at the Montrose site needs to move to run on new equipment to maximise overall production capacity. The role holder will contribute to the process engineering tasks associated with this project. This will encompass design work, safety studies, resolution of any actions associated with the safety studies, process plant software design through to commissioning. Close collaboration with other groups is essential to project success; for example, process chemistry, other engineering disciplines, EHS, validation and strategy.

    This is a Montrose site-based role but there may be some flexibility for partial remote working depending on the stage of the project.

    In this role you will:

    • Input into the project at the design stage: safety studies, work on detailed design, HAZOP action closure.
    • Work with process plant software (specification, documentation, offline and online testing)
    • Conduct on-plant testing (including test script preparation, safety reviews) and resolution of technical issues having process engineering dimensions.
    • Collaborate with other disciplines (process chemists, automation engineers, operations, plant engineers, EHS, quality, other process engineers) to ensure the design is suitable to manufacture the product and is implemented with a view to safety, product quality and efficiency.
    • Ensure tasks are completed in line with the project plan and communicate issues to stakeholders.
    • Ensure good practice and compliance with legislation, which includes reporting and investigation of safety issues and input into planned and unplanned changes.

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

    • BEng/MEng qualified chemical/process engineer.
    • Self-starter, able to be accountable for project / commissioning delivery and working independently on agreed priorities.
    • Successful applicants will be team players able to collaborate across disciplines, with good problem solving and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

    If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

    • Process plant software experience (we use Emerson DeltaV)
    • Process plant design experience.
    • Enthusiastic to work in an on-plant environment, commissioning experience.
    • Experience in pharmaceutical / food / chemical industry and/or in a healthcare environment to Good Manufacturing Practice would be an advantage.
    • Chartered (CEng) chemical engineer.
