Reed is engaged with a public sector body in east Belfast, in the appointment of a qualified Accountant to assume the role of
Deputy Principal (Financial Reporting Team).



This temporary contract is initially for twelve months.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, the Deputy Principal will hold a varied remit to include the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the Interim accounts and year end Group accounts working with Future Planning DP Accountant on consolidation process.
  • Preparation accounts timetable including plans, commissioning letters, main schedules, notes and working papers.
  • Management of audit process including, including liaising with NI Audit Office (NIAO)
  • Addressing all audit findings included in the NIAO Report to those charged with governance
  • Overseeing review of transaction reports, provide advice and monitor business areas to resolve any problems.
  • Overseeing review of MIS reports and issue of prompt payment statistics/reports to directorates and cost centres.
  • Ensuring the Department are meeting the NICS set target for prompt payments.
  • Attendance at Departmental Business Managers Forum and dealing with matters arising.
Departmental contact point for Interface with Account NI and dealing with issues arising.

  • Operational reports, service review reports, review, and dissemination of communications etc.
  • Managing procurement returns and dealing with associated queries, managing eTendersNI, attending meetings and review of contract compliance.
  • Provision of advice and guidance to TEO and its ALBs where appropriate regarding technical accounting issues.
  • Review & sign off monthly VAT return.
  • Responsible for FOI requests

Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the professional bodies (**ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent), with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualified experience within the last five years.
