Facilities Caretaker / Maintenance Operative

Our client, a leading risk management and insurance broking company, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team in the UK on a temporary basis.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing facilities support to our client's estate portfolio.

This includes ensuring technical maintenance of offices, managing building security systems, conducting improvement and repair works, and overseeing on-site contractors.

It is essential to adhere to safe working practises and follow instructions specified by technical consultants, contractors, and manufacturers.
Maintain building assets (Mechanical and Electrical) to comply with regulations and create a safe working environment.
Manage 3rd party contractors for planned and reactive maintenance/projects.
Induct and supervise contractors, enforcing security guidelines and permit systems.
Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for equipment and appliances.
Plan and manage organic maintenance and improvement projects.
Maintain building records and ensure compliance with statutory documents.
Manage building services such as FCUs, emergency lights, fire alarms, and fault finding.
Carry out electrical maintenance, including lighting, power distribution, and PAT testing.
Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Handover buildings after refurbishments/fit outs by the Real Estate Projects Team.
Perform plumbing, joinery, painting, and decorating tasks as required.
Ensure the security and fabric of the office and its contents.
Proactively inspect fabric and assets, resolving or escalating issues.
Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
Mentor apprenticeships and assist with grounds maintenance.
Conduct weekly fire alarm tests.
Flexible approach to responsibilities in a changing environment.
Professional presentation and telephone manner.
Discreet and flexible.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience in managing projects and contractors.
Experience in a building maintenance environment.
CSCS card.
NEBOSH certification.
