Shifts:
Monday- Sunday, including weekends and bank holidays.
Early Shift 07:00am-14:30pm, Late Shift 14:00pm-21:30pm Night Shift 21:15pm-07:15am- including sleep ins and waking nights
About the role
We are looking to recruit a compassionate team member to join our team to help support customers with learning disabilities and other complex needs between two care homes on Vicarage Road.
The role will include all aspects of personal care, cleaning, record keeping and supporting people with health and wellbeing issues including attending health appointments.
The aim of the role is to deliver an outstanding service which is person centred in a way that enhances the lives of people with profound learning disabilities, offering choice and ensuring people have a voice and their wishes and decisions are respected.
The successful candidate must be committed to inclusion and engagement and ensure that the people they are supporting have a full, active and meaningful lifestyle, one that they have chosen for themselves.
The role covers a variety of shifts and hours to include weekends and bank holidays and may change depending on service requirement.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
A positive attitude around person centred approaches to working with individuals with learning disabilities and associated complex needs
A working knowledge of legislation and regulation in regard to delivering care support to vulnerable people
Experience of working within a busy care environment, including all aspects of care (e.g. personal care, manual handling, daily support)
Experience of keeping accurate and compliant records
The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
Strong interpersonal skills

Candidates will demonstrate experience of supporting adults with challenging behaviour, a level of resilience whilst at work, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with customers.
Throughout this role you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with customers to de-escalate incidents and create a safe educational environment.
Punctuality and reliability are essential to meet the requirements of the role, the shifts are early mornings, late finishes, weekend working and waking nights.
In this regulated service, it is essential that staff have their mandatory training up to date and preferably hold a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care or are willing to work towards this.
