Description
My client is a leading Engineering and Manufacturing business based in Northumberland.

As a result of business demands, the company is looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing/Quality Engineer.


The role:

  • Achieve business plan targets with particular consideration to quality, cost, delivery, development, service, safety and morale.
  • Coordination of all internal & external audit activity
External Audit preparation (ISO9001)

Perform internal audits (VDA 6.3 Parts& Process)

  • Key contribution towards development & maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Creation of QMS processes and procedures
  • Control of measurements System Analysis (MSA)
  • Ensure all measuring and production equipment calibrations are appropriate and current.
  • Responsible for all goods inward inspection and testing, liaising with the Maintenance & Quality Technician, ensuring parts are released into production in a timely way.
  • Control and maintenance of Quarantine and Hold areas.
  • Appraisal of rejected/reviewed supplier production parts.
  • Supplier communication, supplier audits, visits and approval/sign off
  • Control of all supplier quality issues using Root cause analysis, problems solving tools and 8D reporting.
  • Control and monitoring of quality all data (including inprocess testing) and KPI reporting
  • Improvement of Internal quality using RCA and developing effective and robust PCA.
  • Promotion of PDCA, Poke Yoke, Continuous Improvement, 5S, latest quality tools, relevant 6 Sigma & Lean tools, techniques and technology.
  • Perform customer and supplier PPAP's working in conjunction with the Principal Technical Engineer.
  • Identify, justify and initiate capital projects based on the needs of the business using Pareto analysis and other tools.
  • Use of change management process (CR/CO) to improve quality
  • Promote company culture and excellence
Education and/or Experience

HNC/D or Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical Engineering)

Experience

Minimum 2 years engineering experience in a manufacturing organisation (safety critical products preferred).
