ACCOUNTS & ADMIN ASSISTANT
An exciting new opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Accounts & Admin Assistant to join a diverse and progressive company based in Armagh


The main accounting responsibilities will relate primarily to the Purchase Ledger, however, exposure will be given in all key areas of the finance function.


Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase orders on request from the purchasing team;
  • Matching purchase orders and delivery notes to incoming purchase invoices, then verifying invoices per internal procedures;
  • Dealing with all purchasing queries with external suppliers and continually reviewing outstanding and queried invoices and chasing them up with relevant manages as and when required;
  • Coding and entering approved supplier invoices on the Company accounting software in a timely manner;
  • Reconciling monthly supplier statements to the purchase ledger.
  • Supporting the supplier payment run process;
  • Scanning and filing of documents per filing systems.
  • Processing of journals in relation to movement of stock.
  • Coding employee timesheets.
  • Preparing lodgements and ensuring sales transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Processing standard journals in line with the above transactions as required.
  • Assisting with month end processes as required.
  • Maintenance of training records and highlighting required updates in a timely manner, as well as sourcing training options to suit;
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation.

Skills and Qualifications - Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
  • 1 years' experience working in a Purchase Ledger role;
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • IT Literate particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • High standard of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Accounting Technician qualification, or working towards completion.
  • Understanding of general accounting procedures.
  • Experience of SAGE50 Cloud accounting software.

Salary
£21 - £24k per annum
