    Teacher of French

Leicester Grammar School is one of the UK's top-performing co-educational HMC independent day schools. Our pupils enjoy exceptional opportunities within and beyond the classroom; we have high expectations, but the success of our community stems, above all, from a culture of aspiration and care. We attract positive, polite and grounded children, who display a strong sense of respect for one another and for staff. Concerns over behaviour are rare; our pupils thrive in a calm and purposeful community, well supported and guided by staff.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly qualified 0.8 to full-time Teacher of French to join our Modern Foreign Languages team. This is a fixed term, maternity cover role, which is expected to be from 1 September 2024 to 31 July 2025.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strength and experience with teaching French up to A-Level.

Besides teaching, you would also contribute fully to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the Classics department and Leicester Grammar School generally.

A snapshot of our Modern Foreign Languages Department

The Modern Languages Department consists of six full-time members of staff and two part-time teachers, including the Head and Deputy Head of Modern Languages, plus foreign language assistants in French, Spanish and German. We aim to bring fun to language learning whilst stretching pupils to inspire a global outlook and a passion for foreign language and culture, and as such the results for French, German, and Spanish are consistently high at Leicester Grammar School.
