Location – Warrington (North West)
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Sub Agent or Site Agent to join our team in the North West region working on a portfolio of rail / civil engineering projects including a portfolio of platform extensions.
Business Unit
AmcoGiffen is a strategic and collaborative contractor of choice supporting industry leading infrastructure clients on an array of critical maintenance frameworks and capital delivery projects. Workstreams are across various markets including rail, highways, environmental, canals and rivers, aviation, power, electrical vehicle infrastructure and mechanical & electrical engineering.
The North West region / business unit possess a strong portfolio of infrastructure projects and framework contracts in rail and non-rail, civil engineering environments. Works within the region include bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels, structural steel installations, moving structures etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the North West region, whether infrastructure projects or maintenance works around the region working with a variety of clients and tier 1 contractors.
The Role
As Sub Agent or Site Agent you will be directly responsible for the daily management of rail civil engineering and structural asset projects including a portfolio of rail station platform extensions within our portfolio of work in the region. Day to day responsibilities would include:
• Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:
o All applicable legislation
o The Terms and Conditions of the Contract
o The Contract Health and Safety Plan
o The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
o The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan
• Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
• Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
• The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
• Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
• The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Engineer, Sub Agent or Site Agent in a rail and civil engineering environment.
• SMSTS
• Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
• Experience as a Senior Engineer, Sub Agent or Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment
• Experience in a similar role working on multi-disciplinary civils infrastructure projects
• Rail experience is beneficial but not essential
