    Description

    Passive Fire Estimator - Risley / Homebased

    Marlowe Fire & Security are the fastest growing fire & security business in the UK. From initial design, supply and installation, through to ongoing maintenance and monitoring, we maintain the capability to help prevent, detect and monitor Fire and Security risks for our customers up and down the country. We are currently looking to appoint a new Passive Fire Estimator located in our Risley Office based in Derby.

    Basic Salary – upto £38,000 per annum

    Marlowe Fire & Security's Passive Fire Estimator's

    Undertake estimating and bid submissions in line with company standards utilising company templates and documentation.

    • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for passive fire protection projects.
    • Review architectural, engineering, and construction drawings to identify the passive fire protection requirements.
    • Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
    • Create and maintain a database of pricing information for materials and labor.
    • Prepare comprehensive and professional proposals for clients.
    • Monitor project budgets and provide timely updates to management.
    • Attend site visits and meetings as necessary to gather relevant information for estimating purposes.
    • Identify review and pre-qualify information to understand ability to deliver the project.
    • Identify type of works required, undertake quotation base don information provided relating to Firestopping Works, Fire Door Replacement and Fire Door Remedial works.
    • Build EPC/costing sheets with all relevant materials required to complete along with labour.
    • Liaise with Marlowe approved suppliers/approved subcontractors to obtain quotations for specialist materials and labour where required.
    • Liaise & communicate with onsite engineers, manufacturers, Salespeople & Project Managers where needed to accurately complete costings.
    • Maintaining commercial perspective to be competitive with our pricing while upholding minimum margin.
    • Import costs, reports and itemised breakdowns where required onto Marlowe Passive Fire Proposal template and detail works required with how we propose to complete.
    • Periodically follow up completed quotes with the salespeople to allow for forecasting.

    Requirements

For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:

    • At least 3 years passive fire, fire door and/or construction based estimating experience.
    • Formal qualifications in passive fire, joinery or construction industry desired.
    • An understanding of the British Standards & EN covering fire protection.
    • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
    • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Self-motivated, flexible, have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
