- Providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems and installations in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Collaborate closely with the project management teams to develop competitive bids, assess project requirements, and contribute to the overall success of our venture
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare detailed estimates for mechanical systems, including high-quality HVAC and Public Health systems to suit client and customer needs, working alongside the design engineers and operations teams
- Source and solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with the project management teams to develop cost-effective solutions that meet project objectives.
- Create comprehensive bid proposals, including breakdowns of labour, materials, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to enhance the estimating process.
- Review and analyse project bids and contracts, providing insights to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, with expertise in commercial & industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, public health care.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g. Hevacomp, MEPWorx, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
