An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clerk/Receptionist to join our team within the Outpatient department Neath Port Talbot Hospital.


We are looking for an individual with good clinical interpersonal and communication skills, who is willing and able to adapt to change and to work individually within their level of competence.


The post requires provision of administrative/reception support to facilitate the smooth, efficient and effective running of outpatient clinics, greeting patients, attending and appointing appointments on WPAS, handling of patient notes and tracking of notes on IFIT, accurate data entry on WPAS and delivering notes to secretaries.


The role involves greeting patients, receive and process referrals into the service and ensure that they are recorded on the CANISC system.

Current experience of working in afast-paced busy receptionenvironmentis desirable.

Applicants must share the Values and Behaviours of Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.


The two busy Outpatient departments at NPTH provide a wide range of clinics over two departments, these include ENT, ophthalmology, rheumatology, general medicine and surgery.


The nursing and clerical teams work closely to provide a high standard service to both patients and visiting clinical staff.
