Location:
Watford

Working Hours: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm OR 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, 1 hour lunch, Monday to Friday

37.5 hours per week.

What are we looking for?
TCHC are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the expanding team. The role a fast-paced and requires someone who has good attention to detail.


The post holder will provide support to the finance management team and be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.


Qualifications:


  • Educated to 'A' Level or above, or with a relevant NVQ, or comparable relevant experience or training.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To support the Management Accountant with the smooth running of the finance department
  • Assisting with the Accounts Payables and Receivables including reconciling incoming invoices and match to purchase orders and updating Sage
  • Maintain aged debtors and creditors
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet items, such as control accounts on a monthly basis
  • Preparation and posting of accrual and prepayment journals
  • Management of staff expenses and ensure appropriate records are maintained
  • Cash flow management and ensure Sage is kept up to date
  • Files documents; invoices, staff expenses
  • Receives and disburses payment, balances daily receipts, and prepares production reports using spreadsheets or daily balance sheets
  • Assist with month end processes and other statutory demands
  • Resolve client and supplier queries
  • Disburses payment from and keeps records for a petty cash and reconcile monthly
  • Prepares various financial related reports and records
  • Assist during the audit in preparation of various packs
  • Responds to enquiries and requests from staff, providers and projects
  • The post holder will be required to produce reports when required
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding (including Prevent) the welfare of all learners for whom you have responsibility for or with whom you come into contact with and adhere to TCHC's Safeguarding and Prevent policies.

Note:
These duties are a guide to the work the post holder will initially be required to undertake.

Amendments may be made from time to time as the role evolves and to meet changing circumstances and these do not form part of the contract of employment.

Additionally, due to the ever-changing environment in which we operate, flexibility and the willingness to travel to other work locations are essential for these roles.


An enhanced DBS check will be a requirement for this position.
This is an initial outline and will be reviewed as part of our Continuous Professional development process.
