ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a

Quality Inspector to join Mulliner at our Crewe Campus. Reporting to the Quality Manager - Mulliner, the role will be responsible for inspecting parts, assemblies & vehicles to achieve successful delivery of Mulliner operational quality targets in line with the Mulliner Product Portfolio & Mulliner / Quality processes.

Bentley Mulliner is renowned throughout the automotive world for crafting some of the most individual Bentleys ever created. Bentley Mulliner is the birthplace of coachbuilding - the oldest automotive coachbuilder in the world. Bentley Mulliner operates as a Division within Bentley and has three distinct product offerings Coachbuilt, Classic and Collections.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspect & approve Mulliner parts & products for fit, finish and basic functionality (including driving of the product if required) across a variety of locations on the Bentley site & test facilities
  • Incoming parts checked and signed off to standards in agreement with Collections Quality engineer
  • Record and document all work carried out identifying the issue (with problem statement) and recommendation on what is required to achieve saleability
  • Liaison with Mulliner operations team to communicate defects and establish resolution plans for Mulliner issues.
  • Support problem solving with recommendations on alternative designs / methods or standards to achieve a saleable product
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement activities & proactively seek opportunities to improve processes

About the Person

You will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable ability to influence the need for customer quality focus
  • Demonstrate a proven track record within a Production / Manufacturing environment.
  • Be able to communicate clearly to peers and supervisors.
  • Be able to work under pressure and maintain decisions.
  • Experience of teamworking within a bespoke delivery environment.
  • Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving.
  • Able to understand Product specifications & drawings.
  • Good knowledge of product trim & assembly processes.
