    Description

    Turing Biosystems is a VC-backed early-stage startup based in the UK and France, which is developing a software platform to help pharma companies and clinicians to design better treatments for cancer patients.

    Our technology allows the integration of multiple layers of data (such as multi-omics, clinical data, prior knowledge) using AI based on automated reasoning techniques.

    Catalyzing the convergence of computation and biology.

    Our vision comes from our conviction that by bringing our founders two worlds, computation for Remy, and biology for Adam, we can change healthcare, drug discovery, and life sciences in general.

    The most fundamental concepts of computation and complex systems can be used to understand, design and optimize biological systems.

    Now, we have reached a technical and scientific maturity to bring this vision to life, and help create better drugs and better health outcomes for everyone.

    We chose the name of Turing Biosystems because we want to honor Alan Turing in our company vision, culture, and values.

    Our approach to technology is rooted in first principles thinking, that is also why we started from the most basic principles of mathematics, computation, and biochemistry to build our platform.

    We wanted to be sure that our technology had a strong basis in the most fundamental truth of biology and computation.

    We believe in the importance of having strong mathematics and computer science principles behind our AI, combined with a grounded and humble approach to biochemistry and biology.

    Your role as a software engineer will be to contribute to the development of Turing Biosystems software platform, and to solve complex technical problems.

    You will work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary scientific environment, interacting with software engineering and bioinformatics teams.

    You should have a taste for intellectual curiosity, a willingness to learn, mixing different technical and scientific fields. You should have an eye towards good software quality and what makes a great software product.

    Our software is used by clinicians and pharma scientists to improve the life of patients and to design better treatments.

    Please apply if you would like to design non-trivial software that is used to solve very critical questions.

    Master or PhD in computer science or related field (Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)
    Knowledge of modern C++
    Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
    Appetite for software quality and good software engineering practices
    Curiosity, willingness to learn and interact with people from different fields

    Linux system programming, low-level programming, networking
    Programming for high performance, hardware architectures
    Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures
    Knowledge of theoretical computer science, automated reasoning techniques, graph theory.
    Ability to work in a creative and fast paced environment
    Linux, C++ 17 & C++ 20, CMake, git
