We are a busy department offering care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery. The ultra-green elective orthopaedic ward offers major elective surgery and an opportunity to support pre-assessment in our ultra-green pathways.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated, and experienced Nurse to work as part of the Trauma / Orthopaedic Unit.
The post will support the CSU management team in the management of the Orthopaedic Unit and will provide management and leadership to the teams.
The successful candidate will require a minimum 3 years post registration experience and recent experience at band 6 or above is required.
Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop excellent interpersonal relationships.
They should have a keen interest working in elective orthopaedic surgery.
The post holder is responsible for the teaching, mentoring and assessment of students, trainees and professional staff, promoting a learning culture.
You will be expected to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care and work within national policy frameworks and guidelines, which are relevant to the patient group and specialty area.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of the challenges in relation to elective orthopaedic / acute trauma and plastic surgery services and the skills required to support patients, families and carers following an emergency or elective procedure.
