£60,000
**Remote

ShortList are working with a fantastic company based in Birmingham who are currently recruiting for a Data Consultant to join their growing team on a fully remote basis.

You would be working for one of the UK's leading Microsoft Gold Partners who specialise in the not-for-profit sector.

You will have a proven background in implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensuring production data is always accurate and available for stakeholders who depend on it.

The Data Consultant must have experience designing data integrations, data quality and support frameworks using re-usable design patterns to reduce maintenance effort.

You will ideally have built a data warehouse and understand the techniques to creating a high performing warehouse on SQL Server using SSIS and T-SQL.

Skills required for the Data Consultant role:

  • Exploration of structured and unstructured datasets based on broad sets of requirements
  • Using the PyData stack (Numpy/Scipy, pandas, Scikit-Learn, NLTK/spaCy) for goal focused analysis
  • Gathering requirements from technical and nontechnical stakeholders and turning these into hypotheses which can be tested against the data
  • Extracting data from a variety of sources including SQL databases, document databases, graph databases, web APIs, etc.
  • Awareness of statistical modelling methodologies and how to choose the most appropriate strategy
  • Data visualisation techniques and presenting results back to a nontechnical audience
  • Techniques and tools for sanitizing data prior to use
  • Creation of data ingestion pipelines in SSIS, Data Factory or similar technologies

The successful Data Consultant will be entitled to a salary of up to £60,000 (DOE) plus benefits, and the role will be fully remote long-term, with the option to travel into the Birmingham office if preferred.
