Salaried GP post
Main duties of the job
To work as anautonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services tothe practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical carewhilst complying with the PMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder willadhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to theeffective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining apositive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinaryteam.

We have a dedicated and friendly team. There are two GP Partners, six salaried GPs, two practice nurses who focus on long term condition management, a treatment room nursing team, receptionist-navigators, secretarial, clerical and IT support. We have one Paramedic, PCN Clinical Pharmacist, two Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescriber and First Contact Physiotherapist. There are on site Podiatrists, Midwives, Chiropractor and Physiotherapists.

Primary Responsibilities
The followingare the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, arequirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors suchas workload and staffing levels:
a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the PMS contract
c.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
e.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks
f.Ona rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
g.Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance
h.Workingcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i.Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j.Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice
k.Acceptdelegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
l.Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
m. Contribute effectively to thedevelopment and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance,training, financial management and HR

Secondary Responsibilities
In addition tothe primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:

Participate inthe review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach root cause analysis (RCA)

Induction Training
On arrival atthe practice all personnel are to complete a practice induction programme; thisis managed by the Practice Manager.
Learning andDevelopment
Theeffective use of training and development is fundamental in ensuring that allstaff are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude andcompetences to perform their role. All staff will be required to partake andcomplete mandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well asparticipating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject toapproval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance theirknowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately, enable them toimprove processes and service delivery.
CollaborativeWorking
Allstaff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork isessential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication isessential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enablesthe sharing of information in an appropriate manner.
ServiceDelivery
Staffat Hartwood Healthcare must adhere to the information contained with practicepolicies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at alltimes. Staff will be given detailed information during the induction processregarding policy and procedure.
Security
Thesecurity of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff mustensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activityimmediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to sharethe codes for the door locks to anyone and are to ensure that restricted areasremain effectively secured.
ProfessionalConduct
AtHartwood Healthcare, staff are required to dress appropriately for their role.Administrative staff will be provided with a uniform whilst clinical staff mustdress in accordance with their role.
Leave
Allpersonnel are entitled to take leave. Line managers are to ensure all of theirstaff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 27 days leave each yearand should be encouraged to take all of their leave entitlement.
