Within this role as the strategic buyer you will have Global responsibility for JLRs long-term strategy for sheet metal processing.

You will be heavily involved in the creation of long-term strategic plans and potentially contract framework agreements for Aluminium and steel banking.


WHAT TO EXPECT

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for the Strategic Commodity Dossier (SCD), ensuring relevant data is captured in order to make strategic recommendations.
  • You will support the development of the global supplier footprint for sheet metals and its processing, working with some of the Global market leaders and constantly investigating opportunities for innovation.
  • You will support Business Reviews ensuring the Global Commodity Strategy is effectively deployed throughout all of JLR and the external supply chain.
  • Together with the Sourcing and Category Management Team, you will plan and execute a robust SRM strategy for your suppliers, based on QCDIS criteria and segmentation level.
  • You will support decarbonisation of your commodity groups.
  • You will develop a wide range of internal stakeholder relationships to ensure strategic alignment, often at Manager level. This is a pivotal role that will act as a core conduit for true cross functional working across Production Purchasing, Engineering, Sustainability, Finance, Stampings Group, Legal, MP&L, STA, Cost Engineering and Manufacturing

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience
  • An individual with very strong analytical skills, able to help the company problem solve by breaking down information, looking through data and finding patterns, trends and outliers
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate complex ideas to key stakeholders to influence cross functional alignment.
  • An individual with strong presentation skills, able to present and articulate complex issues in a clear and simplistic visual form
  • An individual who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
  • An individual who is results driven, has tenacity, drive and perseverance, leading the team to deliver strategic plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
  • An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs
