THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-respected construction company, founded nearly 100 years ago and continue to grow in size.

THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a Building Operative to join their team.

Building Operative key responsibilities:

Perform a variety of administration tasks.
Communicate with suppliers.
Conduct daily site checks and document any necessary actions.
Prepare and process site paperwork for Engineers/Operatives to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works.
Ensure that all contractors adhere to appropriate safety, health, and environmental (SHE) processes and client HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
Take the lead in implementing reactive events such as Fire Alarm activation.
Uphold compliance with health and safety regulations and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) requirements for the premises.
Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks.
Report all incidents, occupational illnesses, and emergencies accurately in relevant books and documentation.
Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, cleaning, managing waste, restocking tea stations and toilet facilities, monitoring and replenishing stationery levels, and performing winter gritting.
Provide support to local and business zero carbon programs, actively working towards achieving zero carbon goals in a strategic and efficient manner.
Ensure that health and safety standards are met across the contract.

THE PERSON

Building Operative key experience, qualifications and skills:

Previous experience with basic building maintenance, handyman, security or janitors duties.
Previous experience within a large building site area is desirable.
Strong administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Clear understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH requirement within a building environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

This position is based in Surrey and paying up between £22-25k pa.
