    Description

    Senior Structural Engineer

    Our client who are expanding in the North West region require a Senior Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer or Associate level Structural Engineer that is looking for their next career move at Associate level now or in the near future. Candidates already at Associate level can also be considered for an AD role.

    This is a unique opportunity with my client, based close to Victoria Station in Manchester who provide a fantastic place to work with a friendly, interactive atmosphere around the office where everyone works as a team. The wide variety of projects and sectors they are involved in means they are constantly faced with new challenges keeping the work both interesting and exciting.

    The Directors and Senior Engineers are very approachable and supportive when in need but also help to push the employees out of their comfort zones to accelerate their professional development.

    There are plenty of great opportunities to progress within the business, particularly in Manchester as the office expands. Also for the less experienced engineers they have several chartered engineers for both ICE and IStructE that provide unlimited support whilst progressing towards chartership status.

    Senior Structural Engineer Job Description

    Ideally applicants will have 5+ industry experience and be Chartered

    The Senior Structural Engineer candidate should be able to:

    • Provide technical support at a high level to the structures team and companyclients, being a problem solver and trusted advisor.
    • Plan and manage projects effectively and efficiently; to include development of project concepts, inputs, outputs, implementation activities, verifications and technical review.
    • Undertake investigations and inspections and develop solutions to clients' problems by applying appropriate analysis techniques.
    • Knowledge and expertise in working concrete, steel, timber and masonry.
    • Provide technical reviews and oversight to the Structures discipline.
    • Prepare designs, technical reports, presentations, specification and contract documentation.
    • Knowledge of BIM, Autodesk Revit and CAD an advantage.
    • Conversant in 3D and finite element analysis / modelling.
    • Appreciation of civils and drainage
    • Proficient in the design of all structural materials and possess a sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
    • Liaising with Principal Structural Engineer to plan workload and resource as required.
    • Ensure projects are completed to agreed budgets and timescales
    • Mentor more junior engineers
