This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in administering a variety of grants to companies in Scotland.

In this role you will have a chance to learn and develop your skills in a department with a strong record of staff progression.


The role:

Join our Grant Operations team.

Your work will include organising post-completion monitoring checks, inputting data from different sources into our systems, and maintaining spreadsheets for our grant products.

It will be you who supports the team to manage and improve our grant processes. And it will be your concise, insightful reports that inform the Grant Operations management team.

  • Your responsibilities will include:
Providing colleagues with technical support, guidance and insights on our grant systems and processes.

  • Giving daily support and oversight for Scottish Enterprise's grant products inputting data, coordinating key data checks, formulating insights, and presenting data to the Grant Operations management team.
Highlighting data integrity issues and making recommendations on how to resolve them.
Collating information in a way that supports the work of the wider Grant Operations team.

Mentoring and supporting two colleagues - this will include planning, organising, training, and monitoring the completion of a range of activities.


Who we're looking for:

You can work on your own initiative confidently - both independently, and with members of a team. You have a flexible and adaptable approach, are used to managing your own workload and meeting strict deadlines. You can gather information from different sources for reports, with the ability to make your own decisions.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Data gathering and presenting skills researching and preparing accurate reports for management.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Effective time management with the ability to deal with a variety of demands and prioritise activities accordingly.

Ideally, but not essentially, you'll also have:

  • An in-depth knowledge of public sector grant processes.
  • Solid working knowledge of contract management and financial payment systems.
  • An ability to demonstrate clear understanding of broad economic development issues.
