Rheumatology is a close multi-disciplinary team comprising of pharmacists, specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are supported by a respected and valued team of administrative support staff.
The ethos of the team is patient centred and one where anyone can achieve their professional development goals; amongst our non-medical practitioners we have prescribers, advanced clinical practitioners and staff who are working towards specialist practice. We are looking to welcome a passionate and ambitious pharmacy technician to the team. This newly created post will sit within a well-respected pharmacy service to rheumatology patients from Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.
This post will provide you with the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills within a patient-centred environment, participate in education and training as well as service development. You will develop close working relationships with the pharmacy, medical and nursing teams to contribute to the safe, high-quality, and cost-effective provision of medicines to patients.
Main duties of the jobYou will play a key role in the provision of medicines management to theoutpatient rheumatology clinics.You will provide crucial support to the improvement and expansion of this service.

This post is suitable for:
qualified MMTs looking for a new challenge or change of location
newly qualified and registered pharmacy technicians
Primary care pharmacy technicians looking for a career change
Pharmacy technicians without both ACT and MMT will be appointed at band and receive uplift to band on completion of both the stand alone ACT and MMT accreditations. Newly qualified Technicians who have completed the Integrated Level apprenticeship incorporating both ACT and MMT, will be appointed at % top of band and receive uplift to band subject to successful sign off at month review.
The working hours are hours per week and you will be required to participate in weekend working as well as late duties and bank holiday rotas. Flexible working options would also be considered.
