KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receive cash and card payments, check, record and allocate payments.
  • Balance cash daily and prepare for collection dealing with any relevant paperwork.
  • Organise copy tickets for both cash and account customers.
  • Assemble relevant paperwork on outstanding cash purchases.
  • Actively chase outstanding cash payments and resolve any queries relating to customer accounts.
  • Query with the branch manager and sales personnel any concerns, exceptions, or unusual transactions.

Main Duties include:


  • Post payments against cash customers and prepare the necessary paperwork for account payments. Retain copy tickets and file. Where necessary distribute copy tickets to customers, as necessary.
  • Balance cash and account payments daily and prepare for the G4S collection adhering to the correct procedure. Complete all relevant paperwork.
  • Organise and file copy tickets for both cash and account customers.
  • Record information on outstanding cash customers daily.
  • Actively chase outstanding payments where appropriate.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the computerised system to answer customer queries on their accounts
  • Resolve fully all customer queries within acceptable timescales liaising with sales staff.
  • Always maintain a close and professional relationship with customers and all employees.
  • Provide assistance with updating the purchase ledger and general admin duties within the Admin department when necessary.

Internal Relationships:
Liaison is necessary with all departments, other members of the team, and in particular branch manager and sales team


External Relationships:
Working relationships are to be developed with customers.


Skills:

  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to interact easily with others both internally and externally
  • High level of accuracy
  • Computer literate

Experience:

  • A successful track record in accurately taking, allocating and balancing both cash and card transactions.
  • Sales ledger experience
  • Cash handling: 1 year (preferred)

Personality:

  • Confident, selfmotivated, hardworking, outgoing and professional with a flexible approach to duties.
  • A team player is essential.
