LEAP Together - Project Coordinator - 6 Month ContractThis role is funded by the National Lottery Community Led Fund.
THE ORGANISATION:
Local Energy Action Plan (LEAP) is a registered charity operating in Renfrewshire.
This role sits within LEAP Together, a community focussed area of the organisation, which includes the following projects:

Lochwinnoch Feel Good Festival
- This is a wellbeing festival based in Lochwinnoch, with a schedule of activities throughout the year, and an annual concentration of events in September during a "Feel Good Fortnight". This funded project aims to improve wellbeing within the community, through various means.

Diggin' It
- A vegetable/seed growing initiative tackling wellbeing and providing supplementary food for Participants, from their own properties.

Community Larder
- A community pantry based in the heart of Lochwinnoch, providing free food to all. This is an environmental project which also seeks to address food insecurity, social isolation and improve community engagement. The project is open four days per week and delivers parcels locally on a fifth day. It is supported by a large team of volunteers and two other members of staff. It operates along the principles of dignified food provision.
THE ROLE:
This is a varied role working across interesting projects in the charity sector.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll be undertaking a range of marketing admin, event organisation, and other general project support duties.
The working pattern can be fairly flexible between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend working when hosting events.
The role is split between home working and working in
Lochwinnoch, as well as being on-site occasionally at events in other community spaces.
It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and is seeking an opportunity to build more experience within the community sector.
Duties specific to each project areas are outlined as follow:
Feel Good Festival
- Assisting Project Manager to design festival; Building relationships with partner hosts / organisations to bring together programmes
- Researching potential vendors, hosts and partners
- Organising annual craft fair, wellbeing fair and other directly hosted minievents and workshops throughout the year
- Event marketing: Updating the website with listings; Liaising with press; Social media via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; Working with designers to make flyers, posters, banners etc
- Administration of community consultations evaluating public opinion and measuring impact of project
- Scheduling festival preparations and event day roles for Staff and Volunteers
- Procurement of goods and services such as porterloos, food trucks etc.
- Purchasing any equipment or props required
- Purchasing and ordering of materials and equipment, and keeping Seed Library stocked
- Assisting in organising community events, workshops and training
- Assisting with the organisation and distribution of growing materials such as seeds, compost (occasional delivery of goods to Participants who do not have their own transport)
- Occasional administration support for Larder Service Coordinator
- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets of financial and numerical information
- Managing specific budgets, cashflows and funding spend
- Keeping records of funds and funders
- Assisting with all marketing and PR, liaising with local press and designers of promotional literature
- Maintaining website and social media
- Mailing memberships using Mailchimp
- Administrating community consultation through varied means: Setting up survey forms and collating data
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
- Strong administration and IT skills with a knowledge of MS Office packages, including strong knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets
- Previous experience of a relevant role ideally within administration, marketing, event management or project delivery/coordination
- Strong numerical skills and experience of dealing with financial administration
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels
- A willingness to learn and take on a varied role
- A solid work history with no unexplained gaps
Desirable:
- Previous project experience from a community focussed role
- Previous experience of digital marketing or communications
- Previous experience of event management
- Own transport and clean driving license
- Experience of web development through Wix or similar software
- Experience of using MailChimp
- Experience of using Canva or other similar software
Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Freelance
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

£26,939.00 per year
