The post-holder will support the Faculty Academic Support Lead in the Health Education England student retention project (Nursing 50,000 project) to undertake qualitative research involving interviews and focus groups with pre-registration nursing students.

You will also contribute to data analysis, evaluation of the project and publication of the research findings.

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have experience of undertaking primary research. You will ideally have both quantitative and qualitative research skills. You will be self-motivated and able to work independently but you will also be a team player. You must be a good communicator and able to present information on research progress and outcomes to different audiences.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Management of academic research and administrative activities related to the project to meet tight deadlines and project milestones.
  • Contribute to effective liaison with stakeholders (Health Education England).
  • Contribute to the recruitment of participants to the study.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the project, qualitative evaluation of student experiences through focus groups and interviews.
  • Support and signpost students to the relevant support services, wellbeing, disability support, study skills etc.
  • Collect and analyse data.
  • Support in the organisation and delivery of dissemination opportunities and collaborate in the preparation of project reports and journal articles for publication, presentation or exhibition.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible attitude towards work.
This role is 28 hours per week for a duration of 12 months.
