Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an Applications Engineer with a world class supplier of specialist equipment to work out of their Brierley Hill facility.

The role will report to the Sales Director and will involve taking customer requirements, designingspecialist purpose equipment, and delivering engineering solutions to meet their needs predominately within the metal coil processing industry.

As an Applications Engineer you will be responsible for:

Reporting to the sales Director as part of the Technical Services Team, providing technical support and expertise especially when liaising with clients during requirement capture.
Daytoday responsibility for developing technical solutions and commercial proposals to satisfy customer enquiries including compiling cost estimates, producing project drawings, and preparing technical specifications.
Direct liaison with clients in response to questions and queries raised relating to quotations.
Support sales and Engineering Teams during initial tender and quotation stages of new product and systems development stages, providing accurate CAD drawings for special purpose equipment
Work with PM Team during equipment installation making sure any design modifications and changes are completed within time and to require standards.

As an Application Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

Degree qualified ideally within Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
Design knowledge of special purpose equipment, machine tools, rotating parts or mechanical assemblies, ideally in medium/heavy mechanical parts or process engineering.
Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD/Inventor/Solidworks) other 2D / 3D CAD will be considered.
Exposure to mechanical engineering, process equipment, metal pressing and/or sheet steel processing background would be advantageous.
Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to establish requirement and engineer solutions that are functional within stringent time frames to meet project deadlines.
