Role and Responsibilities:

The Head of Risk will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks that may impact the organisation.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the business operations, regulatory requirements, and industry trends to identify and assess risks and design controls to minimise their impact.

Assessing the impact of particular identified risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize their effect on the organisation
Developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures to mitigate potential risks
Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that risk management strategies are understood and implemented effectively
Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of risk management strategies and recommend changes as necessary
Developing yourself as a Subject Matter Expert and leader across the business for Risk expertise, becoming a trusted advisor to our Senior Leaders providing guidance, advice and support
Reporting directly into Executive Group, providing specialist expertise and insight on the Risk agenda
Chairing regular Risk Group meetings, creating and steering agendas with focused outcomes, clear communication strategies and information relay
Conducting regular risk assessments to identify emerging risks and develop appropriate responses
Developing and maintaining risk management plans and documentation to support compliance with regulations and standards
Owning our Risk registers, and coordinating with business teams for the regular upkeep and maintenance of their respective registers, capturing changes and collating mitigation actions
Provide training and support to staff on risk management principles and practices
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organisation's risk profile
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and industry associations

Experience and Skills Required:

Ideally, you will have gained over 5 years' experience within a Governance, Risk & Compliance Leadership role, with people management experience and ability.
Comprehensive knowledge of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
Strong working knowledge of relative regulations, legislation and standard.
Experienced in driving change & efficiency, with an ability to work collaboratively with others, whilst remaining inclusive, supportive and understanding towards your colleagues and other stakeholders.
Excellent written, verbal and general interpersonal communication skills with a strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to present ideas in businessfriendly and userfriendly language, particularly at a senior level to our Executive Group and Board.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with crossfunctional teams
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a fastpaced environment.
