This dynamic and exciting role will manage Business Support teams across Perth & Kinross Council Area to provide business/administrative services to professional colleagues within Services for Children, Young People & Families; therefore, experience of managing the provision of administrative support to social work and social care staff is desirable.


This post will also be responsible for specific tasks which will require the post-holder to utilise all aspects of Office 365 suite.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that statutory business support processes meet appropriate timescales.


This is a varied area in which to work and will provide value to the postholder in terms of gaining knowledge, skills and experience within Business Services.


You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross Council area.

Close working relationship is required with the Heads of Establishment across all locations.

Working with, and supported by, the Business & Management Officer, you will manage and oversee Business Support teams.

You need to be self-motivated and task orientated. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required and you must have the ability to form strong working relationships.


You will be part of a management team who work extremely closely with one another to take forward an improvement programme.


You will be responsible for driving your service area towards proactive solutions for existing process issues (whilst appreciating the impact this may have on our professional colleagues/customers), identifying ways to automate or simplify how we currently work and be involved in ongoing projects with your peers and manager to build and launch even more innovative ways of working.


You will have a passion for identifying best working practices, demonstrate that you contribute to continuous development, an interest in learning more about the complexities of business services' area, as well as a desire to develop and motivate your teams.


The nature of the service that we deliver is very much customer focussed (for both internal and external customers); therefore you need to have confidence in your ability to be a clear communicator and be able to liaise with customers and colleagues at all levels.

You will be motivated, curious, flexible and dedicated to delivering an excellent business administrative support service.

You will be someone who is keen to learn and develop your skills and knowledge and that of your team.


You must have a good standard of general education (including Standard Grade, or equivalent, in English, Arithmetic or Maths) and it would be desirable if you have an HNC administration qualification.

You should have a willingness to undertake further training/education.
