Job Title:
Health and Safety Advisor


Reporting to:
Group QHSE Manager


Responsible For:
None


Salary:
£40-£45k plus car allowance


Location of Role:
Home based with travel across all the Cobalt Energy Group sites as required.


Job Purpose:

The key aim of this role is to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the site ensuring staff and contractors are adhering to current health and safety legislation by creating, developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures in line with plant operations


The key metrics are:

Health and Safety Performance and Compliance with key policies/procedures.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conducting and recording regular risk assessments and site inspections
  • Carrying out and recording incident investigations
  • Training and coaching employees on safety related issues
  • Plan, manage and measure the health and safety function on site
  • Liaise and coordinate with the site and plant manager on priorities and advise on health and safety matters
  • Undertake regular site inspections and audits.
  • Maintain and administer sites health and safety action plans
  • Compiling of health and safety statistics and prepare regular reports on the performance of health and safety in the plant
  • Identify potential hazards and determine ways of reducing risks
  • Support communication and promotion of health and safety themes
  • Ensure working practices comply with legislation
  • Determine ways of reducing risks

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:


  • NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • Proven health and safety experience in a process/manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and manage workload over multiple sites and projects
  • Good practical problem solving skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation including CDM Regs 201
  • Member of IOSH (Technical member with willingness to work towards Graduate/Chartered status)
